Mat Goldsborough

CEO and Co-Founder, NimbleBrain · Creator of Bassethound

Mat Goldsborough is the founder and CEO of NimbleBrain, where he builds conversational automation on the Model Context Protocol, and the creator of Bassethound. He started Bassethound to answer a question sales and research teams keep asking: what is a company actually built on, and how far past the AI press release has it really gone.

Before NimbleBrain he spent a decade on mission-critical and cybersecurity systems at Lockheed Martin, held a Secret-level clearance, and founded Forever Oceans, building autonomous, remotely operated ocean platforms. That mix, hard security engineering next to from-scratch product building, is why Bassethound treats a company’s security posture and its AI stack as first-class layers of the dossier rather than afterthoughts.

He writes the material on this site himself. Everything here about company intelligence and AI-readiness detection comes from building the detection that powers Bassethound: fingerprinting model providers, vector stores, MCP endpoints, and llms.txt in the wild, and deciding what actually separates a company shipping AI from one only experimenting with it. He is a TEDx speaker and a Fast Company innovation award recipient.
